The 27th FAO Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean has been held at the Palacio de las Convenciones, in Havana, from 22 to 26 April 2002, at the kind invitation of the Government of Cuba. The Plenary Session took place from 24 to 26 April 2002, preceded by a Technical Committee, convened on 22 and 23 April 2002.

It was open to all FAO Member Nations in the Latin America and Caribbean Region, to representatives of the United Nations Bodies and Specialised Agencies, and also to observers.
