Iniciative on Soaring Food Prices

FAO has launched the Initiative on Soaring Food Prices (ISFP) to confront the global crisis cause by rapid food price increases.

Through the ISFP, inaugurated by the FAO Director General in December 2007, FAO is offering technical and policy assistance to the hardest hit countries in an effort to increase local food reserves and avert crisis. To date, 17 million dollars have been dedicated to this effort.
